Former Shreveport council clerk sues city over alleged sex-, race-based discrimination and harassment
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A former Shreveport clerk of council is suing the City of Shreveport claiming she was subjected to sex- and race-based discrimination and harassment.
The lawsuit was filed Monday (June 24) in Caddo District Court on behalf of Shanerika Flemings.
The attorney alleges that her rights were violated when she was terminated from her position Sept. 12, 2023.
Flemings alleges she was subjected to unwelcome and unabated sex- and race-based discrimination and harassment.
KSLA News 12 reached out to the city attorney for comment.
He said he was unable to make a statement because the city had not yet been served with the lawsuit.
Flemings is seeking damages and declaratory relief.
