SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The brother of the man accused in the deadly shooting at a Shreveport Walgreens appeared in court Wednesday (Feb. 5).

Larry Dwayne Lewis, who was questioned by police about the Walgreens shooting that occurred on Jan. 22, appeared in court for a crime prosecutors say he committed in 2021.

He has been charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Lewis’ lawyer told KSLA in 2021 that Lewis was pulled over in his sister’s car, and a gun was found in the backseat.

Today in court, Lewis entered a plea of not guilty.

His charge in court is completely unrelated to the Shreveport Walgreens homicide.

“He’s not charged with any of that right now. He entered a not guilty plea to the only charge, which is firearm on a felon, he’s facing. I think he was pulled over in his sister’s car and there was a gun in the backseat,” attorney Joey Greenwald said.
