SPD shares progress in fatal Walgreens robbery case; 1 suspect arrested, 1 wanted
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - One of two suspects has been arrested in connection to the fatal Walgreens robbery. Detectives are still trying to find the second suspect and are asking for the public’s help.
On Jan. 25, the Shreveport Police Department shared their progress in the fatal robbery of pharmaceutical delivery driver Billy Jamison, 67, on Jan. 22.

Two suspects have been identified in connection to the robbery: Kelvin Lewis, 38, and Larry Lewis, 44. Officials confirm that the men are brothers.
“This calculated and heinous crime shook our community to its core. Thanks to the relentless work of our Violent Crimes Unit and the cooperation of the public, we have made critical progress toward bringing justice to the victim and their family,” Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith said.
Detectives say they have reason to believe Kelvin is the one who fired shots during the fatal robbery. A warrant for Kelvin was issued and he was arrested in Arlington, Texas, on Jan. 24 for unrelated violent offense charges.

The Arlington Police Department released surveillance footage of Kelvin and Kevin Bivens being captured.
SPD says they have reason to believe both men could be connected to other crimes in Shreveport. Bivens was arrested in a separate Shreveport shooting that happened on Jan. 7.

SPD detectives are still actively looking for Larry Lewis for his alleged involvement in the Walgreens incident.
“We have had several people call in on Crime Stoppers. We are still trying to validate some of that information. We do have reason to believe that he could still be here locally. However, we have had tips elsewhere. Each one of those tips that comes in is investigated thoroughly and we aren’t going to stop looking for him,” said Cpl. Chris Bordelon
Shreveport detectives say they are committed to holding all responsible parties accountable and additional arrests may come up as the investigation continues.
Mayor Tom Arceneaux commended the quick work of SPD on Monday (Jan. 27).
“Our hearts go out to the families and friends who are mourning these tragic losses. We stand with you in this difficult time and remain committed to doing everything possible to bring justice and accountability...The Shreveport Police Department has shown exemplary resolve and commitment to protecting our community. Their ability to close these cases so quickly demonstrates the level of skill and determination they bring to their work every day.”
Anyone with information about this case or the whereabouts of Larry Lewis is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
