Flipped car hauler causes significant delays for school buses, others in Bossier City
BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - An 18-wheeler wreck in Bossier City is causing significant delays for drivers Monday, Dec. 2.

Monday afternoon, Bossier Schools sent a message out to parents letting them know an 18-wheeler is blocking traffic at Benton Road and Viking Drive. This is causing significant delays. The school system says once school gets out, parents should expect their child’s bus to be late dropping them off.

Apollo Elementary texted parents saying if you’re using the car line to pick up your child, you will be forced to turn left onto Viking Drive when exiting the car line. You will then need to turn south onto Benton Road.
Officials with the city say the vehicle involved is a car hauler, and that it’s leaking diesel fuel at the intersection of Benton and Viking. The hauler was carrying five cars when it flipped, city officials say.
Traffic is also heavy along Airline Drive. The Bossier Police Department is working to clear the wreck as soon as possible, but asks drivers to avoid the area unless absolutely necessary. Those who do try to drive through the area should expect major delays.
