Sydney Goldberg is a meteorologist with the WAFB First Alert Weather Team in Baton Rouge. A Baton Rouge native, Sydney holds a Master’s degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Geography, with a concentration in Disaster Science and Management, from Louisiana State University.
She previously worked as a meteorologist in Jackson, Mississippi, while earning her master’s degree. During her time at LSU, Sydney interned at WAFB-TV under the mentorship of Dr. Steve Caparotta, which sparked her passion for broadcast meteorology.
Outside of work, Sydney enjoys running, reading, and going to local coffee shops.
As Louisiana’s coast continues to shrink, experts say the future of coastal protection will impact communities from the Gulf Coast to Baton Rouge.
