Caddo Parish radio traffic captured the events as they unfolded.
“Yeah, go ahead. 1501 Kings Highway. We just got a call in reference to an inmate that took off on foot near LSU, unknown direction of travel. It’s going to be a black male, a Trevion Jackson. A caller is going to be an April Davis. She’s advising that transportation is out looking for the subject as well. He left headed towards a drainage ditch near Burger King,” a dispatcher said.
“1-18 to 2-23. I believe that’s the subject that’s running off. He has prior escape route,” an officer said.
“Okay, his name’s supposed to be Tre’veon Jackson. I’m pulling information on him now,” a dispatcher said.
“223-205. This is going to be a subject that’s hid in the ceiling tiles at the jail, trying to escape. This is his fourth or fifth time attempting to escape. Multiple battery-on-officer charges,” an officer said.
Search continues near drainage ditch
“233 units coming out here. I’m following transportation to where he got in the drainage ditch at. He lost the jump or took the jumpsuit off. Supposedly going to be in a white T-shirt. In green shorts. Might have taken the t-shirt off as well,” an officer said.
“Was he secured? Does he have handcuffs and leg irons?” an officer asked.
“I’m not sure, Alex. Once I get to the drainage ditch with transportation,” another officer responded.
“223 to all units on this call. Subject has his charges are as follows. Two counts- second-degree murder. Two counts-Attempted. Second degree murder,” an officer said.
“K-9-3 units out here. No handcuffs. No leg irons,” an officer said.
“K-9-3. He doesn’t have them on, or you can’t find them?” a dispatcher asked.
“He does not have them on. K-9-3 to drone coming. We need units on a drone at Levy and Linwood. SPD just called in a sighting of them,” an officer said.
