NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A disturbance in the Gulf will form an area of low pressure this weekend with some potential for weak tropical formation.

The disturbance has already developed thunderstorms offshore the Florida Peninsula. Over the weekend we’re expecting storms to fire each day around that swirling low. Conditions remain unfavorable for any significant development but a weak storm can’t be ruled out. The next name is Bertha.

Heavy rains will spread to the Florida and Alabama beaches in the coming days with some of that weather working our way into next week.
