SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The VA hosted a regional hurricane preparedness exercise in Shreveport Thursday (May 7).

VA emergency preparedness assets from across the nation gathered for the regional exercise Thursday morning to showcase what resources are dedicated to serving veterans in the aftermath of a disaster such as a hurricane.

Veterans and other members of the public attended the event to learn about what disaster response assets are available. The exercise also allowed participants to simulate real-world disaster scenarios and streamline collaboration between different agencies and communication systems.
