FLORENCE COUNTY, SC. (WMBF/Gray News) - A woman in South Carolina was shot and set on fire after meeting someone to “buy a puppy,” according to authorities.

Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Iryanna Fleming, 19, of Pamplico, and Daquinn Thomas, 31, and charged them with murder, first-degree arson and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Dana Kinlaw, 40, thought she was going to see a puppy she was interested in buying; investigators believe that meeting led to her being shot.

The sheriff said a liquid was poured on her in a rural area and she was set on fire inside a car.

Deputies responded to the area around 5:45 p.m. and found Kinlaw inside the burning car.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the murder as retaliation for another murder in South Carolina.
