Fiery collision hurts driver of pickup, closes I-30 in Texarkana

TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) - A 19-year-old suffered minor injuries in a fiery wreck on Interstate 30 in Texarkana, Texas.

The crash involving a pickup and two tractor-trailer rigs happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday near the Kings Highway exit in Texarkana near Nash, Texas.

Preliminary information indicates that one of the semis and the pickup were slowing as they approached a construction zone when the other tractor-trailer rig ran into the rear of the pickup, Texarkana, Texas, police report.

The impact knocked the pickup into the rig in front of it.

Flames engulfed both the pickup and first tractor-trailer rig.

The main lanes of travel had to be closed and traffic was detoured, according to DriveTexas.org.

The injured teen was driving the pickup, authorities said.
