Woman killed, 1 injured in shooting, suspect sought

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police are investigating following a fatal shooting on Saturday evening.

Officers got the call before 9 p.m. to the 3200 block of Red Bud Lane, that's off Valley View Drive in Shreveport's Garden Valley neighborhood.

According to Cpl. Marcus Hines, a woman was found dead on scene with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Another person received a gunshot wound to the leg and has been sent to a Shreveport hospital.

"According to the preliminary information that we have, a vehicle was traveling along this roadway when occupants inside the vehicle began to fire rounds and struck the home and also struck two vehicles," Hines said.

The two people were believed to be in the home.

Police do not have a description of the gunman or gunmen. There is no one in custody at this time.

There is a large police presence on Red Bud Lane for crowd control, according to Hines.
