SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police have arrested two men for allegedly burglarizing a vehicle in west Shreveport.

The incident happened early Saturday morning just after 1:00 am on Mansfield Road at the Hillside Apartments.

According to police, the caller said that she was watching one male sitting in a Honda Odyssey going through the contents in the car. When the suspect noticed he was been watched, he then ran away on foot and got into another truck and left the complex.

The officers that responded to the to the call noticed the truck leaving down the street from the apartment and tried to stop the vehicle, but it turned into a short police chase with 18-year-old Ladarrius Walker driving the stolen truck.

The chase ended at a convenience store at Colquitt Road and Mansfield Road where Ladarrius then hopped out of the car, pushed an officer, and tried to get away. The K9 stepped in and took down the suspect.

The passenger, Dontavian Walker,19, was also taken into custody. He was person that was seen rambling through the other vehicle at the apartment complex before the arrest.

The truck that was being driven by the suspect was originally stolen out of Minden, Louisiana.

Ladarrius Walker was treated for his dog bite before his arrest, then both suspects were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

Dontavian Walker is charged with one count of Simple Burglary. Ladarrius Walker is charged with one count of Illegal Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated Flight, and Resisting an Officer with Force and Violence.

According to authorities, more charges are to come.
