Woman fatally shot in Shreveport

Woman dies after being shot; police question 2 people

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A woman is dead.

And police are questioning two people who were in the house when she was shot.

The shooting in a residence in the 1900 block of Alston Street was reported at 7:58 p.m., Caddo 911 dispatch records show.

Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

She was pronounced dead after being taken to a Shreveport hospital.

Nine police units remain on the scene of the shooting between North Dale Avenue and Holzman Street, down from a dozen earlier.

Meantime, there's been a report of another shooting in Shreveport.

Caddo 911 dispatch records show this one happened at 8:42 p.m. on Columbia Street between Creswell and Highland avenue.

That's a block east of the city's Columbia Park.

There is a Shreveport Fire Department unit on a medical emergency at that location along with two police units.
