CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Two Caddo Parish educators are getting students pumped up to go back to school Aug. 13 by joining in on a trend that's sweeping social media.

Kasie Mainiero and Zachary Bolzan, principal and vice principal at University Elementary in Shreveport, recently got "in their feelings" and did their own rendition of the In My Feelings challenge.

"I had several children who posted on Instagram and challenged us to a video challenge with the Drake 'In My Feelings' video," Mainiero said.

"We don't want them to just see us in a suit and tie, and in the principal office, as something negative," Bolzan added. "We want them to see us having fun, and see us as people. We want to be positive and relatable. We want them to think they can come and talk to us."

The duo put their own twist on the popular challenge by taking it from the car, into the music room and down the hallway before landing on the playground.

"I was like 'I don't know how to dance. I gotta learn how to dance in one day.' So that was all one take. We didn't rehearse any of it," Bolzan said.

And just like the song, he says the video took off faster than they could catch up.

"We didn't even know really know how big it was going to be. She texted me and was like 'We have 1,000 hits.'

"We had to take it off Facebook and put it on YouTube because Google shut it down."
