SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - After a string of multiple vehicle burglaries and auto theft that began in west Shreveport, a man is finally behind bars.

The Shreveport Police took 17-year-old Cortney Milton into custody on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 after being seen walking on the 4400 block of Pines Road by officers with two other juveniles.

Police learned that Milton and one of the juveniles had outstanding warrants out for their arrest and discovered a stolen hand gun in the area after a search.

According to authorities, the burglaries took place along Pine Road between South Lakeshore Drive and Buncombe Road in early June. Investigators were able to collect evidence in those burglaries that determined that Milton was the suspect.

Milton faces 24 counts of Simple Burglary, two counts of Attempted Simple Burglary, one count of Illegal Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, one count of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and his outstanding warrant for Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
