SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport woman is facing a murder charge after her alleged role in the shooting death of a man earlier this week.
Aliyah Morris, 18, is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Joshua Musgrove, according to a news release from Shreveport police.
On July 22, Shreveport police officers were called to the Aspen Apartments in the 9700 block of Baird Road in regards to a shooting.
Upon arrival, they found Musgrove with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Morris was taken to Shreveport Police headquarters for questioning.
The pair were in a romantic relationship, and Musgrove was not charged during her first visit with police detectives. However, as their investigation moved forward and more evidence and information became available, an arrest warrant was issued for Morris.
She was taken into police custody on Thursday, July 26 following additional interviews with investigators.
If convicted, Morris faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
