Barksdale airman goes missing

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, LA (KSLA) - Authorities are asking for help finding a Barksdale Air Force Base airman who has gone missing.

Airman 1st Class Robert M. Mayfield last was seen at 9 a.m. Wednesday near Brentwood Hospital, at Marshall Street at Highland Avenue near downtown Shreveport, the base public affairs office reports.

The 24-year-old stands 5'4" tall, weighs 145 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Mayfield last was seen wearing blue jeans, a black jacket, a red Texas Rangers hat and eyeglasses with black frames.

He is a 2014 graduate of East Texas Christian Academy in Tyler, Texas, who graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, the Tyler Morning Telegraph reported in July 2017.

Authorities urge anyone who sees him to call Shreveport police at (318) 673-7300 or your local law enforcement agency.
