CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A Caddo Parish grand jury returned a "no true bill" for a man accused in a Shreveport fatal shooting.

The charges were dropped against 51-year-old Hermon Woods for second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a man back in May.

A spokesperson from Caddo Parish District Attorney's office says the case had to be dismissed due to the lack of an indictment.

The fatal shooting happened in Shreveport on Thursday, May 3 on Vine Street between Market and Marshall streets, Caddo 911 dispatch records show.

After the shooting, a patrol supervisor searching in the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue saw a man, later identified as Woods, whose physical build and clothing matched that of the alleged shooter, police Cpl. Marcus Hines said.
