SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police investigators are searching for a man who they believe is responsible for an armed robbery in downtown Shreveport Tuesday.
Police say the man was identified as 27-year-old Tommy Lee Beverly Jr. thanks to a crime stoppers tip.
Officers were called out to the 200 block of Spring Street for a report of an armed robbery just before 1 a.m.
When they arrived, the victim told police he parked his vehicle in the alleyway and as he got our a man with low cut hair pointed a handgun at him and demanded money.
The victim told police he gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash and two cell phones and the man took off in a cream-colored Mercury Grand Marquis.
Friday afternoon, the victim contacted investigators with pictures of the man that robbed him.
Police say the suspect took photos of himself and they automatically uploaded to the victim's cloud.
Investigators released photos of the suspect to the public in hopes of getting him identified.
Within two days Shreveport Caddo Crime Stoppers got a tip that identified the alleged suspect as Beverly, of the 3100 block of Devaughn Street.
Beverly is now wanted for one count of armed robbery.
