SFD suspects arson in vacant house fire

Vacant house burned, cause under investigation

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Fire Department is investigating after a vacant house went up in flames in west Shreveport — and suspect arson.

Just before 4 a.m., crews got the call to the 4500 block of Lyba Street.

Upon arrival, they found the building fully engulfed in flame.

It took about 14 minutes to extinguish the blaze and the efforts of eight units, 24 firefighters.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the SFD Investigations Bureau.
