Interstate 220 in Caddo Parish to partially close on Saturday and Sunday
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Drivers in Caddo Parish will have to take a different route starting today if they plan on traveling Interstate 220.
Starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, eastbound and westbound I-220 will be closed from LA 1 (North Market Street) and LA 173 (Hilry Huckaby III Avenue) will be closed.
The closure will take place on both days and will end at 7 a.m. The roadwork is necessary for roadwork and signage placement related to the I-49 segment K2 project that's under construction.
LADOTD suggests these alternate routes:
- I-220 eastbound detour: ALL traffic will be diverted off at Exit 5. Detour will be LA 173 to LA 3094 to LA 1 to I-220
- I-220 westbound detour: ALL traffic will be diverted off at Exit 7A. Detour will be LA 1 to LA 3094 to LA 173 to I-220.
The work will be done weather permitting.
