4th of July shooting victim arrested for outstanding warrants

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - One of the shooting victims from an incident on the 4th of July has been arrested due to two warrants being issued for his arrest from last month.
Shreveport Police officers responded to a shooting at the Bayou Oaks Apartment Complex in the 2100 block of Grimmett Drive around 2:00 pm where an 11-year-old girl and 22-year-old Justin Turks were injured.
Turks was the person who called police after being shot in the back twice. He was taken to the hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.
After being released from the hospital, Turks was taken into Shreveport Police custody.
During his recovery, investigators noticed that Turks had two warrants out for his arrest, including an outstanding warrant for Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and a parish probation violation.
Before his arrest, his bond was set at $10,000.00. Now, Turks is being held at Caddo Correctional Center with no bond.
