HEMPSTEAD COUNTY, AR (KSLA) - The driver of one car and a passenger in another were killed in a collision in Southwest Arkansas.
It happened at 7:31 p.m. Friday on Arkansas Highway 278 in the Hempstead County town of Ozan.
Arkansas State Police have identified the two who died as 27-year-old Edward Fizer, of Nashville, Ark., and 73-year-old Jeff White, of Hope, Ark.
Injured in the wreck were 47-year-old Ramona Bailey, of Texarkana, Ark., and 76-year-old Dorothy Dixon, of Hope.
Fizer was driving a 2003 Mazda 3 east on AR 278 when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve, authorities report.
The preliminary crash summary says the car crossed into the oncoming lane, where it collided with the westbound 2014 Nissan Altima that Bailey was driving.
Both cars came to rest off the north side of the highway.
White, a passenger in the Altima, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fizer was pronounced dead at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs in Hot Springs, Ark.
