BIENVILLE PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Louisiana State Police have released the name of the man killed in Friday afternoon's crash on Interstate 20.
Fred Cowden, 69, of Shreveport was killed when his Chevrolet pickup truck was hit from behind. It happened around 3:15 p.m. near mile marker 61, west of Arcadia.
The truck was hauling a small trailer, the impact of the crash caused the truck to flip several times.
According to LSP, a tan pickup truck was seen fleeing from the scene and did not stop.
Cowden was pronounced dead at the scene.
A juvenile passenger was sent to a Shreveport hospital for treatment by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Impairment on Cowden's part is not suspected, but toxicology samples will be collected.
