JEFFERSON, TX (KSLA) - Two East Texas students were wounded and a suspect has been arrested after a shooting Tuesday afternoon, according to the Jefferson, TX Police Department.

Police say the shooting happened near the intersection of N. Owens and E. Harrison St. behind the Family Dollar in the 800 block of North Walcott Street in Jefferson, Texas.

Police believe 17-year-old, Deontra Tyre Lilly shot a 16 and 17-year-old after an argument.

Lilly reportedly then took off in a blue Chrysler and went back to Longview.

Police say the two teens who were shot, whose names are not being released at this time, are currently in stable condition.

Lilly was taken into custody in Longview, TX by the United States Marshal's Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force.

When he was arrested a female juvenile runaway was found with Lilly and released to her guardian.

Lilly is currently charged with aggravated assault involving motor vehicle using a firearm around habitations causing serious bodily injury.

Lilly is currently being housed at the Gregg County Jail and will be transported to the Marion County Jail.

Additional charges may be filed pending investigation.
