Severe beating leaves man fighting for life, another in jail

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport man is fighting for his life after being severely beaten.

And the man accused of attacking him is in jail on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Officers found 36-year-old Brandon Singleton unconscious and suffering from multiple head injuries just before 10 p.m. Saturday in the 6900 block of Broadway Avenue, the Police Department reports.

Singleton, of the 6700 block of Broadway, was taken to a Shreveport hospital for treatment of what authorities said appeared to be life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses have told investigators that Singleton and 37-year-old Quentin Z. Hudson got into an argument and that Hudson hit Singleton with a bar stool, knocking him unconscious.

Hudson then reportedly continued attacking Singleton, causing severe head trauma.

Police arrested Hudson, of the 6900 block of Broadway, at 10:10 p.m. Saturday then took him in for questioning.

He was booked him into Shreveport City Jail at 12:42 a.m. Sunday, booking records show.

Hudson also is being held on an outstanding warrant charging him with one count of obscenity.
