SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Investigators have charged a teenager with two counts of business burglary stemming from two separate burglaries of a Shreveport automotive shop.

On both April 3 and May 21, officers were called out to the Take 5 Oil Change in the 500 block of East Kings Highway on reports of burglaries.

On both occasions, police say the business was broken into by two black males who crawled across the floor of the business trying to avoid the surveillance cameras.

The burglars reportedly made their way to the office area and took undisclosed items on both occasions.

Investigators got video footage of both of the burglaries and released one to media in hopes of getting the suspects identified but police received no tips.

On Monday investigators working the east side of town came into contact with a 16-year-old suspect who they believed was one of the burglars in the video.

The teen was taken into custody, interviewed and then booked into Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center on two counts of simple burglary.

Investigators are still working to catch the teen's accomplice.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Shreveport police or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
