CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is asking drivers to use caution while traveling on Interstate 20 now that lane closures for construction have resumed.

Construction started back on April 30 in both directions of the 13 mile stretch from the Texas state line to just east of Monkhouse Drive in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, according to DOTD officials.

As part of this work, there will be nightly lane closures within the project limits, scheduled from about 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

In addition to that, now motorists can expect some intermittent daytime lane closures west of Exit 5 on I-20 in Caddo Parish as part of the ongoing mill & overlay project.

While the major work is still being done at night, drivers should be prepared for some smaller construction activities during the day as the project progresses.

While the progress of construction activities is dependent on weather conditions, this project is expected to be complete in Spring 2019.
