SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that part of Interstate 20 westbound near downtown Shreveport has reopened after being closed for construction Monday morning.
The close reportedly started at midnight to remove an overhead truss sign over both lanes of I-20 westbound. DOTD reported it had reopened just after 5 a.m.
The truss is just west of the Spring St./Market St. ramp, just east of the Line Avenue/Common Street interchange.
All I-20 westbound traffic was forced off onto I-220 westbound in Bossier City. The on-ramp from US 80 to I-220 westbound was closed in Bossier City.
All I-20 westbound traffic crossing the Red River Bridge was forced off at the LA 1 (Spring St./Market St.) exit.
Traffic was detoured to the south on LA 1 and turned back northbound onto LA 1 by Earnest's Supper Club restaurant.
