BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - A man is facing hit-and-run charges after police say he crashed into a woman and left the scene Monday morning.

Police say just before 7 a.m. a trash truck from On Time Waste was southbound on Airline Drive when it struck a car that was coming off the westbound off-ramp from Interstate 20.

The driver of the trash truck reportedly stopped and check on the driver of the car but then left the scene in the truck.

Police say the woman refused emergency medical treatment.

A few minutes later, officers found the driver of the trash truck, identified as 59-year-old of James Harmon, at the Crown Inn in the 1900 block of Airline Drive.

Harmon was arrested and booked into the Bossier City Jail for hit and run and careless operation. He also had an outstanding warrant from the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office.
