SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A man is recovering after being shot multiple times during a robbery attempt on Thursday.
Police say just before 10:00 A.M., they were called to a shooting scene on West 72nd Street.
Upon arrival, officers saw a man suffering from what appeared to be several gunshot wounds to both legs.
Later investigators found out that before he was shot the man met up with Joe Ford, 23 on that same street.
At some point during their conversation, another man apparently approached them and police say that's when things got a little tense.
The heated discussion escalated, prompting the third man to reportedly pulled out a gun, asked for money, and shoot the man who met Ford.
After that officers say the suspected gunman drove off in a red 2001 Dodge Intrepid believed to be owned by Ford.
Minutes later authorities found the vehicle abandoned on Dowdell Street, and inside they found illegal drugs and a handgun.
Ford was arrested and charged with possession of schedule one and two narcotics with intent to distribute and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
