CULLEN, LA (KSLA) - Members of the community are taking a stand against domestic violence and raising awareness during an event later this month.

Domestic Violence and the Community will begin at 1 p.m. on May 19 at Evening Star C.M.E. Baptist Church, 1103 Henrietta White Blvd, in Cullen.

Guest speakers for the event will include domestic violence survivor Jakare Fecunda of Shreveport and Stefanie Degraftenreed of Dallas.

Degraftenreed is the author of The Double Life of a Minister's Wife.

The event will feature live music, praise and fellowship. Refreshments will be served.
