CLAIBORNE PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Volunteers spent part of their weekend searching more areas for a missing Claiborne Parish boy.

Rondreiz Cortez "Junior" Phillips disappeared April 5 from outside his home near Lisbon.

On Saturday, five people searched some areas along Tippett Road within a four- to five-mile radius of the 4-year-old's house.

Roughly 50 people turned out Sunday to search off Louisiana Highway 2 and other areas in the vicinity of Lisbon and Hico.

Hico is an unincorporated community at Louisiana Highway 152 at Louisiana Highway 545. It's about five miles northwest of Dubach and about 10 miles east-southeast of Lisbon.

"They all had their hearts in it and did amazing covering some large areas," spokeswoman Balqees Dwairi said.

And she said the Genesis chapter of United African American Men, a student organization at Grambling State University, recently conducted searches in the areas of Grambling, Simsboro and Arcadia and worked to ensure people know about the missing child.

"We aren't just focusing on ground and area search," Dwairi said. "We are also covering the possibility of abduction by sharing his picture and story and informing people."

A Claiborne Parish businessman has put up $5,000 to match the reward the FBI is offering for information about Phillips.

That makes the total reward $10,000.

Authorities urge anyone with any information about Phillips to:

  • Call 911, or,
  • Call the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office at (318) 927-2011 or 800-810-2011; or,
  • Contact Sgt. Stacey Pearson, of the Louisiana Clearinghouse for Missing and Exploited Children/AMBER, by calling (337) 962-2605 or sending email to stacey.pearson@la.gov.
