SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Two people are safe after escaping a burning house Friday morning.

The fire happened around 8:45 a.m. in the 5700 block of Lucille Street.

Firefighters say two young adults were inside the house at the time of the fire and were able to get out safely.

The fire is believed to have started in the bathroom on the side of the house and moved up the wall and into the ceiling.

Crews battled the blaze from the front and outside of the home, pulling insulation from the attic.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the flames.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

The cause is under investigation.
