NEW BOSTON, TX (KSLA) - A special meeting will be held on Friday to discuss the future of New Boston Police Chief Tony King.
The meeting will begin at noon at the Council Chambers of New Boston City Hall, 301 E. N. Front Street.
Following roll call, the New Boston Mayor and Council will enter into executive session to discuss the possibility of removing and dismissing Chief King due to "lack of confidence."
Because it is a personnel matter, the discussion will not be open to the public.
Following executive session, the Mayor and Council will return to open session and will take official — if any.
If Chief King would be dismissed, an Interim Acting Police Chief would be named.
King allegedly fired Milwood because he threatened to expose police misconduct in the New Boston police force.
