Growth, challenges discussed at State of Bossier Address

BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Leaders with both Bossier Parish and Bossier City partnered with the Bossier Chamber of Commerce for a State of Bossier Address Luncheon.

The event, which took place at the Hilton Garden Inn's Garden Event Center was sponsored by the CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System.

A panel was featured at the event, including Benton Mayor Shelly Horton Jr., Bossier City Mayor Lorenz "Lo" Walker, Haughton Mayor Jack Hicks, and Plain Dealing Mayor David Smith.

Bossier Parish Police Jury President Glenn Benton was also on the panel.

The discussion began with Parish and City leaders outlining their successes and challenges of 2017 and moving forward in 2018.

Bossier Chamber members then got the chance to present their questions to the panel.

Douglas White, Director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at LSU Shreveport presented a regional economic outlook with statistics and information specific to Bossier Parish.

This is the fourth year of the luncheon.

Lisa Johnson, President of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce says "This event shows our community and our region what great things are going on in Bossier and how the city and parish are emerging as leaders in innovation and growth in the area."?
