SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Two adults and three children are safe after escaping a house fire early Saturday morning in Shreveport's Cedar Grove neighborhood.
It happened just before 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of West 72nd St.
When Shreveport firefighters arrived at the scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the back of the wood frame home, according to Shreveport Fire Department spokesman Clarence Reese.
The two adults and three children were able to escape the fire before crews got there.
It 19 minutes for 22 firefighters to get the blaze under control.
The majority of the home sustained moderate fire and smoke damage leaving it uninhabitable until repairs can be made, according to Reese.
There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
