HOPE, AR (KSLA) - Relatives of a Southwest Arkansas man say he was fatally stabbed as he was trying to break up an argument.
Hope, Ark., police found 29-year-old Jaime Dominguez suffering from multiple stab wounds and lying in the street in the 200 block of North Prichard Street about 10:50 p.m. Saturday.
He was taken to Christus St. Michael hospital in Texarkana, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police think the stabbing stemmed from an altercation involving several other people.
Beyond that, authorities are releasing little information about the slaying.
Family members say Dominguez was stabbed after some people drove up while he was preparing for a party.
"There was somebody arguing, and he was trying to separate whoever was arguing. And that is when that happened," said Jessica Guerero, a relative of Dominguez.
The slain man is survived by his wife and four small children.
"She has to support four kids now because of those people that came in and killed him. They killed him," said Marta Guerero, another of Dominguez's family members.
Jessica Guerero said Dominguez was a good father and husband. "He was a great man. He never fought with anybody, not that I know of."
Authorities urge anyone with any information about the homicide to call Hope, Ark., police at (870) 777-3434.
