SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport man was shot at least twice when he answered his door, police say.

The shooting at an apartment complex on West Algonquin Trail happened at 8:26 p.m., Caddo 911 dispatch records show.

The man was taken to University Health with life-threatening gunshot wounds, including one to his chest and one to an arm, police Cpl. Marcus Hines said.

Now police are trying to identify suspects and determine a motive for the shooting.

Two males showed up at the man's residence, knocked on the door and, without saying a word, shot him when he answered the door, Hines said.

Police have used crime scene tape to cordon off part of the apartment complex parking lot.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
