SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Caddo Coroner's Office has released the name of a man killed when he was struck by a vehicle in Shreveport on Monday.

Lentavise O. Bowman, 31, of Shreveport was killed while walking along the 4000 block of North Market Street. That's north of the Y where North Market Street and U.S. Highway 71 split. Bowman died at the scene.

It happened at 8:38 p.m. Caddo 911 dispatch records show.

Shreveport police Cpl. Marcus Hines said the 31-year-old man was hit by a northbound vehicle, which remained on the scene.

The 58-year-old driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck remained on the scene. The driver was then brought to an area hospital where he submitted to mandatory toxicology testing, as required by state law, according to a news release from Shreveport Police Depar. Impairment was not immediately expected as a causative factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. Boman's autopsy will be performed at University Health.
