1 arrested after shooting during drug deal

NATCHITOCHES, LA (KSLA) - A man is facing charges after Natchitoches police say he shot another man during a drug deal.

Natchitoches police arrested 22-year-old Charley Lynch for a shooting that happened in the 700 block of Lafayette Street around 4:45 p.m. on March 12.

Police say the man who was shot was meeting Lynch to buy drugs from him. The victim told police they got into a verbal argument that became physical and Lynch shot the man in the upper thigh area.

The victim was taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center by a friend and was later transferred to University Health in Shreveport.

Lynch is charged with attempted first-degree murder and was placed in Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. His bond was set at $500,000.
