SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Police have released the identify of the man suspected of leaving the scene after hitting a child with an SUV Thursday afternoon in Shreveport.

The accident happened at 5:10 p.m.at Hollywood and Broadway, according to Caddo 911 dispatch records.
Witnesses reported seeing a white, older model Ford Explorer hit and drag the child, police Cpl. Marcus Hines said.
There is no word on the extent of injuries to the child, whom Hines said is 6 or 7 years old.
Witnesses also told a patrol officer they thought they knew where the driver lived.
That led police to the vehicle at a home in the 4100 block of Joe Louis Street, less than a half-mile from where the child was struck.
That also is where Scroggins was taken into custody.
