Police arrest suspect in home invasion that killed 1, hurt 1

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police have caught a man being sought in connection a home invasion robbery Thursday morning that left one person dead and another wounded.

Authorities arrested 27-year-old Allen Martin, of the 6000 block of Lexington Avenue in Shreveport, and booked him on a charge of attempted second-degree murder at 5:15 p.m. the same day.

His bond has been set at $250,000.

The name of the man who was fatally shot has not yet been released.

Wounded in the shooting was 43-year-old Terry Stewart. He was taken to University Health for treatment of a gunshot wound to one of his legs.

Detectives think Martin and the man who was slain went to Stewart's home in the 2400 block of Queens Highway and tried to rob Stewart at gunpoint at 1:46 a.m. Thursday, Shreveport police Cpl. Marcus Hines said.
