CASS COUNTY, TX (KSLA) - More than $7 million worth of cocaine that authorities think was bound for Chicago has been seized in East Texas.

A Texas Highway Patrol trooper made the discovery during a traffic stop in Cass County, the Texas Department of Public Safety reports.

A 2017 Ford Mustang was traveling north on U.S. Highway 59 north of Atlanta when it was pulled over for a traffic violation about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

A Cass County sheriff's canine unit led investigators to 123 pounds of cocaine in bundles in the car's trunk.

Now 28-year-old Bricio Alejandro Vasquez, of Brownsville, Texas, is being held in the Cass County Jail in Linden, Texas.

He has been charged with felony possession of cocaine.

His bond has been set at $502,500.
