Marshall police seek help "getting dangerous man off the streets"

MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) - Marshall, Texas police are on the lookout for a wanted man they say could be armed and dangerous.

Police believe 25-year old Joe Michael Allen is in the East Texas area.

Allen is wanted for several felony warrants in different locations, including Marshall and Dallas, for drug possession charges and probation violations.

Police in Marshall won't say why Allen is believed to be armed and dangerous or what other warrants might be active for him.

"This is one of those cases where we are depending on the citizens of Marshall and surrounding communities to help us get a dangerous person off the streets," said Chief Jesus "Eddie" Campa in a statement released by the MPD. "The quicker Mr. Allen is taken into custody, the safer Texas residents will be."

They say the case is being investigated by the U.S. Marshal East Texas Task Force.
