Shreveport house fire displaces family of 7

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A family of seven is safe after their Shreveport home caught fire Monday morning.

More than 9 Shreveport fire units responded to the house fire just before 3:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Parkridge Street in Sunset Acres.

Firefighters battled heavy smoke coming from the home.

The family of two adults and five children made it out of the home safely.

Officials on the scene say the fire was contained to a bedroom and firefighters had it under control in 10 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
