SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that gutted a home Friday morning.
The fire broke out in the 5100 block of Florence Street, between Cleveland Avenue and Baxter Street, around 3:15 a.m.
The Shreveport Fire department says they arrived at the scene to find smoke coming from the attic. They reportedly had to make two stops to the home when sparks rekindled three hours after their initial visit sending flames shooting back through the roof.
The resident was not in the home at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities say the home is now completely destroyed.
