MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) - Santa Claus was in downtown Marshall, Texas, this evening to help kick off the city's 30th annual Wonderland of Lights.
Wonderland of Lights runs now through Dec. 31, with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday.
"For a town this size to put on an event of this stature is truly awe-inspiring," Carolyn Howard, tourism and promotions director, says in a news release. "Marshall is known for the wonderful holiday festivities associated with Wonderland, and this year will not disappoint."

Wonderland of Lights will offer its traditional carriage, train and carousel rides.
There have been upgrades to the ice rink's cooler and coils.
Santa's Workshop will be open in the Pioneer Credit building at 311 N. Washington Ave. during festival hours until Dec. 23.
There will be live music nightly on Telegraph Stage in the heart of downtown Marshall across from the 1900 J. Riely Gordon Courthouse.
And each Saturday will have a special event.
- Nov. 26: Second annual Wassail Fest. Shoppers will be able to peruse downtown businesses while sampling traditional apple cider. Merchants will vie for the title of Wassail Fest champion voted on by the public.
- Dec. 3: The Jingle Bell Run is set for 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by the lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m.
- Dec. 10: Outdoor Christmas Market, a new event, will be held in conjunction with the Second Saturday Car Show. The market will feature vendors from throughout the region offering homemade Christmas crafts, decor and stocking stuffers.
- Dec. 17: Wonderland of Sights, an art- and history-themed holiday tour.
