SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Police have released surveillance images of 2 gunmen who robbed a Shreveport dollar store Friday night.

It happened just after 9:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Lakeshore Dr.

According to police reports, the men approached the cash register as if to buy a pack of gum. But as the clerk was opening the register to complete the transaction, one of the men reportedly reached into a tote bag and raised it up as if he were concealing a weapon. That's when police say the men demanded money and fled with the cash.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspects were described both as black males; one wearing a camouflage jacket and pants, white tennis shoes, armed with a hand gun, and a second suspect who wore a dark colored sweater and black pants at the time of the heist.

Police say their investigators are working to recover surveillance video footage from the business. Anyone who has any information regarding this robbery is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Richard Turpen at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
