TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) - With elections but a few weeks away, politics is getting heated in Texarkana, Ark.
Now authorities are investigating a resident's arson complaint because someone burned her political signs.
Kathy Jeter says enough is enough after someone set fire 2 Trump for President signs in her front yard Friday morning.
"I have about 6 more in there, and they are going to go right back up," she said.
"But I don't know what to do about this," Jeter said of the fire that also scorched part of her yard.
"The police is going to start watching."
Jeter said she got the fire doused before police officers and firefighters arrived and before it could have caused more serious damage.
"There is dry pine straw, the ground is dry," Fire Department Battalion Chief Ginger Lee observed. "You know it could have spread the other way and spread to the house.
"And then it is not going to be vandalism or malicious mischief, it's going to be somebody getting hurt."
Jeter told KSLA News 12 her Trump signs had been disappearing over the past few days.
But with the fire Friday, she said, there will be criminal charges pressed against whomever is responsible.
